Hey, I’m Hamed Salam, a User Experience Researcher & Designer who leads with the belief that good design should feel like a conversation: honest, intuitive, and human.
I don’t just design for users, I champion their voice in every decision, ensuring teams stay grounded in empathy, clarity, and purpose. My leadership style blends curiosity with structure: I listen deeply, challenge assumptions, and create the conditions where cross-functional teams can deliver their best work. Whether I’m mapping a service, running a design sprint, or facilitating workshops, I focus on building alignment, inspiring collaboration, and driving outcomes.
Over the past 5+ years, I’ve led projects across the full design spectrum from early discovery to polished UI always adapting to team dynamics, project goals, and the humans we’re building for. With a foundation in user research and a passion for philosophy and cognitive science, I bring both analytical rigor and creative intuition to the table, guiding teams to balance the why with the how.
What sets me apart is my commitment to leading by example. I’ve mentored over 200 aspiring designers, built communities that thrive on shared learning, and embedded inclusive design practices into every organization I’ve worked with. I care deeply about culture, people, and impact: empowering others, shaping processes that elevate design maturity, and creating digital experiences that don’t just function well but feel right.
Outside of work, I’m always seeking new perspectives whether through collaboration, exploration, or adventure. For me, leadership isn’t about titles, it’s about service: building people, strengthening teams, and designing a better world together.
🧩 Outside My Job
I co-lead Charity UX—the largest and only dedicated UX community for non-profit designers and researchers in the UK. Hosted on LinkedIn, it connects digital design leaders from organisations such as UNICEF, Shelter, the Red Cross, and Crisis, among others. The community fosters collaboration, shares best practices, and drives innovation to enhance digital experiences across the charity sector.
